To Dissect

Completing dissections is embedded right in the Ontario curriculum in both Science and Biology. Dissections requirements are specificially identified in grade 10 applied science, grade 10 academic science, grade 11 biology, and grade 11 University preparation biology. Although a dissection is required, the curriculum specifically addresses the use of live and virtual dissections. Teachers are not required to conduct live dissections in their classrooms and the students are not obliged to complete live dissections. Teachers and students both have the option to complete virtual dissections to meet the expectations of the course.
